Scene From The Gardens

Walking around the Deepwood Estate and Gardens in Salem Oregon early one morning I was like a kid in a candy store there were so many wonderful motifs to consider! This particular scene caught my eye because of the back lighting of such a vibrant color on the trellis and that is what I wanted to capture as well as the shadow it cast and highlights popping they the lush foliage. I also wanted to capture the cobblestone walkway and the beautiful manicured garden that the volunteers work so diligently to keep! It was such a stunning setting to paint in!
