Pont Hameau

Oil on canvas. This is a charming old house near one of my former homes. I loved the blue door and the old shingles, and the light that day was lovely. It was actually called "Pont Hameau," a French translation of the town name: Bridgehampton. I'm not sure the house still there, but it's a wonderful memory of the place where I started plein air painting in 1999. I loved getting up early and driving around until something struck me, then just setting up by the side of the road. It was one of the best periods of my life! I'm not sure the house is still there, but I'm happy to have this memory.
