Having The Usual at the Busy Bee Cafe

Buffalo, Wyoming cafe featured in Craig Johnson novels. Oil painting on Ampersand panel. I stopped in town to see the cafe and was taken by the backlighting and the bright sun lit reflection of the buildings across the street in the cafes windows. It’s like having abstract paintings within the painting. I went back and forth on weather to include the burning wagon wheel mural. Composition won out and it adds an important element for content as well as composition. After all, if Dali can have a flaming giraffe….
