Known as the Millionaires’ Squadron, these young aristocrat heirs of English fortunes switched their country club horses for war airplanes, to defend their country during the World War II. The Millionaires had a reputation for escapades and flouting the rules, but they could not have got away with it, without being and efficient and effective fighting unit who bravely defended the British airspace. In this painting, part of the pilots carefully observes the training flight of the other Squadron members.
